An end is just another beginning :) (yes, even in death, that is my personal belief anyway!)
I like Roomie's profile in that second panel, I like the little skin fold I added beneath the chin, simple but realistic (I do think it's important to add these small details that shows bodies differently than the usual "sexy person has no wrinkles, no chubbiness, no folds whatsoever" vibe, which I had to unlearn myself as an artist)
And yeah, the first strip tells of Lillian's departure from "the tear", the sleeping state she was in, a reaction to some hidden wounds she accumulated through her life. And we see her in a dark forest at first, when leaving the tear, with almost menacing dark trees, because it can feel menacing, to get out of one's comfort zone, one's familiar space, but then there's a fire at the end of the road (end, or beginning?) with new friends, welcoming arms and warmth to be found.
--> This is a rerun of the finished webcomic Go Get a Roomie! You can find these two strips in the old archive >here<!
