Watch is doing some intense flirting back there (first panel of second strip) and Rich is enjoying the cuteness of it all. You know, those two got together in a way I never really intended to, not at first! Roomie was supposed to be the one to grow closer to Watch (as friends) but somehow the path changed and it was Richard who took that role. Which I'm very glad of, since Roomie already has her friendships, room-mates and dare-I-say love of her life to focus on, it would've been a lot (story-wise) to also throw in another intense friendship to explore, you know? And that way I got to discover more of Richard, through Watch, and it seems that the readers were all very happy about it too :>
