Aah, here it is. The first strips of GGaR that I'm going to have to comment on for its... awkwardness (to put it nicely!)
So, apart from the fact that this was done in 2010 and the world then was even less informed about trans matters than today, I was also less sensitive about it myself. Never wanting to lack any respect towards anybody, of course, but I was impulsive in my way of writing and depicting subjects that I knew I knew nothing about :)
I did share these strips with someone who had recently transitioned and he replied with something like "ok lol" and I was like GREAT IT'S THUMBS UP THEN. I should've done a weeee bit more research on the subject, and these strips could have been written way better.
As I've said in earlier strips of the rerun, the experience of making a webcomic for so long, and writing many diverse characters in it, was a great way for me to learn more (and admit mistakes). In a way, I don't regret all those mistakes made!
But I also get if people get uncomfortable with these sorts of moments. If it reassures you, I can tell you that as the comic goes, and this trans character returns, the writing (and author) evolves plenty on that front.
You can find these two strips in the old archive >here<! You can also access to the comment section there, and read on to your heart's content, if you can't wait for the next update :)
