This is a strip I changed years later after I had first drawn it. There was no text saying "she knows Lillian" from Matt, and that meant that readers had to guess what Matt was thinking, which wasn't super obvious. He realizes that Roomie knows Lillian, and so nervously laughs at that new shocking finding! 

I had made sure throughout the comic that Lillian and Matt never found themselves in the same place at the same time (aka: Jo's bar, where else?) but that wasn't necessarily seen, or understood, by the readers!
