If your parents think having a boyfriend and a stable job is the only way to go then they might not be as perfect as you make them out, Roomie :D
A rare moment when GGaR talks just a TINY LITTLE bit about Roomie's family (nuclear family). I... think I could have done more. But I also think that I had given Roomie a lot of what my own parents meant to me, and so that may have (instead of inspired me,) paralyzed me a bit. I did idealize my parents for quite a while, and might still idealize them a little nowadays, and they've been some of the biggest help I could ever have in my life to grow into the person I am today. But attaching that to someone like Roomie, who had plenty of similarities with me but at the same time we grew a little apart and she became her own character with her own lifestyle... I was too unsure as to how to exactly tackle the subject of parents with this character that felt as if she came from another planet with no family attached. So they were put to the side. And the less I talked about anything related to a nuclear family for Roomie, the harder it was to change that and say anything about them. You know?
I have rattled quite a lot in this commentary :D rattle ends here!
