Hehe, I like this little exchange with WOC and Lillian in that second strip.
And wait, in the first strip, that butterfly... that was supposed to be a wink at the boobiefly in the first Little One story, isn't it? Why clever clover young you.
The leafless tree in WOC's garden was indeed given bags and hanging plants by Alice herself. She very much liked being creative with crafts and decorations and such, and didn't want to leave the tree without any foliage. So she gave it some herself.
Though it was after I had that oh so brilliant idea, that I quickly asked myself how not practical it was to have bags left outside hanging on a tree.
So I don't know, you find a solution to this problem, you think of something. Like, oh, the bags are actually made of uuh really sturdy tissue and uuh dries really quickly so it doesn't get too moist and grows mushrooms and--
oh wait. Growing mushrooms would've been such a neat thing though. Just like, a jungle growing from the rotting bags? Of course, I'd have drawn it in a way that would have made it look pretty and magical, probably not what you'd get from actually leaving bags outside for too long but hey! Never tried it myself, it's probably possible something interesting happens!
... what a tangent to get into.
