Lillian in that first strip does sound a bit accusing, to present me anyway. A bit out of the blues. But it probably comes from a growing worry on her part, as she realizes that Roomie does have a sort of dependency with alcohol, and that she might need help. Maybe she worries that she's the only one around that's currently there to worry about Roomie. Maybe she worries she's not enough, that she might fail to help Roomie all by herself.
Maybe maybe :)
And lo and behold, Lillian's part geek. Who knew? (I knew.)
And I like how casually Roomie's bringing her to a computer store like she'd bring Lillian to a cafe shop saying "hey how about you spend your money on this?" except a computer costs a little more than a croissant.
