That first strip had some readers react strongly like "WOAH super mean, wtf ramona??" and yes, they are absolutely right, super mean.

But as an artist who did punchline for a living, I also found it funny :D;; 

My guess is that the next strip there was all about telling readers "uh yeah YEAH that was uncool and YEAH she's gonna have to learn a lesson there!" which was a good thing for the character's development so I'm glad I went with that bit.
