Still love that last strip<3
and concerning the first strip, when Allan finally reveals *GASP* HIS EARS:
I went a bit all in for this. As time went, and Allan had his headphones AT ALL TIMES I felt I had to find a good enough explanation for this, so I went for TWO reasons.
One, he has tinnitus and so we can guess that maybe headphones can mean trying to counter the tinnitus with white noise or something?
Two, he has a really small, anormal, looking ear, and so tends to want to hide it. But I feel like it wasn't that obvious the way I drew it (readers can look at it and go, oh the artist drew the ear a little small but I guess it's just a silly little mistake huh)
Looking back at those sorts of "explanations" (or justifications) I went to hunt for in GGaR at times (or other comics), now I think they're a bit overestimated. Like, if the story makes sense the way it's written, is there truly a need for a justification for it? Depends on the context, but I think I fell a little too much in the trap of "oh a reader didn't understand this so now I gotta make up for it". That's the fallback of reading feedback for every single strip, I guess! (there were also many advantages, don't worry ;))
*This is a rerun of the finished webcomic Go Get a Roomie! You can find these two strips in the old archive >here<!
