That first strip's cute. It tells a lot about their relationship, and will continue being pretty relevant throughout the comic.
I remember drawing the two first panels of the second strip, I had drawn a full-bodied Roomie then digitally separated in half to create both panels. I remember wanting to put extra effort in it!
And Roomie's hair was absolutely taken from how I could "brush" my own hair (I had long hair then!), you'd brush them backwards, forming many big hair knots at the base of the head, and my thick hair would go POOF! Just like Roomie's there, to the point of people sometimes asking if it was a wig or if I really were that "crazy". Other people would call me "Roberta Smith", though I wanted to pass more as a dark haired Janis Joplin, especially when wearing my colorful hippie clothes and big yellow glasses. (ah, Janis Joplin. Love you girl, but I'm glad I took a different path from you in the end.)
And I was also absolutely barefoot, there's no doubt about that.
--> This is a rerun of the finished webcomic Go Get a Roomie! You can find these two strips in the old archive >here<!
